How Martino's Began In April of 1962, the Martino Family opened a donut shop which also offered short order items. It was on the corner of Phillips and Jackson Street. It was very small and it had a seating capacity of twenty-one seats. The customers like the donut shop because it was a family oriented place where they could relax. We also had a lot of school children come into eat since schools were nearby. As time went on we expanded to meet the needs of the customers. Two years later we bought a tavern called the North Star on the corner of North and Main street. We changed the name to the Martino's Inn. We operated there for two years and we also expanded our seating capacity to fifty people. Later we built another building right behind the old one and operated there for another seven years with the seating capacity expanding to one hundred. Soon out business increased and we needed
more room for our customers. We then built our present restaurant which is located on North Washington Street. We increased the seating Capacity to three hundred people. Through the years we have always operated a family style restaurant with fresh, home cooked meals which Frank, Angela and the family prepare daily. The whole family works together to bring a little bit of home and good cooking to a family oriented restaurant. On occasion people can see the whole family working together to bring the customers the very best service that is available. Our customers always come first. Our Family has grown through the years along with our restaurant and the customers. Some of our customers have been eating at our restaurant since we started our business. They are not only customers but they are also our best friends. The Martino Family would to thank everyone who has been to our restaurant for making the work so enjoyable. It is such a pleasure to work with people who also like the share a part of their life with us. We will continue to work together as a family and to bring the very best in food and service to our valuable customers. We appreciate all of your support and we look forward to serving you in the future.
